We do not collect:

  • Text content you process through AI actions
  • Personal information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers
  • OpenAI API keys (stored locally in macOS Keychain only)
  • Conversation history or AI interactions
  • Individual usage patterns tied to your identity
  • Location data or device identifiers
  • Browsing history or usage of other applications

Information We Collect

We collect only anonymous, aggregate statistics to improve the application:

How Data Flows

When you use AI features:

  1. You select text in any application and choose an AI action
  2. Your device connects directly to OpenAI’s servers using your API key
  3. OpenAI processes your text on their infrastructure
  4. Results return directly to your device
  5. No data passes through our servers

Third-Party Services

OpenAI

Your device connects directly to OpenAI’s servers. We do not have access to this communication. OpenAI’s
privacy policy governs how they handle your data.

Apple App Store

Subscription transactions are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment information. Apple’s
privacy policy applies to transaction data.

Data Security

Your OpenAI API key is stored securely in macOS Keychain. Text is processed in memory only and is never
saved to disk. All communications with OpenAI use HTTPS encryption.

Your Rights

You may:

  • Add, change, or remove your API key at any time
  • Cancel your subscription through App Store settings
  • Delete all application data by uninstalling AI Context Utility
  • Manage your OpenAI data through your OpenAI account

Children’s Privacy

AI Context Utility is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Users must provide their own OpenAI API key, which requires being 18 or older.

Legal Compliance

This privacy policy complies with applicable privacy laws including GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA. Our legal
basis for processing anonymous usage data is legitimate interest in improving our application.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this policy as needed. Changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
